Technology Tuesday: Disney Circle

When we’re teaching on Taming the Technology Monster, one of the most common questions is…so what do we do?  Thankfully, there are many great programs out now to help safeguard our kids’ hearts and minds when it comes to Technology.  We try to write about them regularly on Technology Tuesday’s!

The issue with filters and monitoring services is wanting something that can take the hassle out of it for you.  It’s just hard to find time to be on top of technology, while the kids around us seem to find all of the time in the world.  So, we do our best to take the guesswork out of it at raisingboysandgirls.com and help you find your way to helpful, safe, user-friendly platforms to protect your home and family.

One we especially love is called Circle with Disney.  It’s one device that helps you wrangle control of all of the devices in your home.  It creates a filter that is different for each computer and device…with the filter level specified to pre-k, kid, teen, adult, or none.  It takes a lot of the guesswork out of what is and what isn’t appropriate with it catered to these specific developmental levels.

Another feature we love is the time limit feature.  You can not only dictate how long each gadget has access to the internet per day, you can also specify programs such as only two hours on Netflix for your teenager.  It also has a bedtime apparatus for each gadget, helping your child do the sometimes impossible feeling job of turning off their gadget or computer at night.  And, as an added bonus, it has a pause feature.  So, when wanting to have a meal together, or family discussion without the distraction of phones, you only have to hit pause.

We love most things Disney around here, and are grateful the folks that create such fun for our kids (and us) are also in the business of helping us safeguard them.

Stay with us on Tuesdays and weekly for more tips on Technology, parenting and more!  We’re grateful to be on the journey with you.
